Prom season is coming up, and with it comes a long list of expenses.  There’s the dress, shoes, possibly flowers and prom tickets.  Given that fact, McDonough merchant X-clusive Tan, is contributing to the cause of collecting prom dresses for high school girls who need them.

Says shop owner Marlies Venable, “With the economy being so bad, we thought we would help a high school senior girl, who wouldn’t be able to go otherwise.” She decided to do it by hosting a “Tans for Prom Dress” fundraiser.  This month, the salon is donating a dollar for every tanning package sold.  They are also collecting prom dress donations in both of their locations – one in McDonough and one in Fayetteville – and will obtain names of eligible students through a Henry County high school.
